Minutes of the Meeting 

  • Call to order: The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Gowing at 7:33 pm with all members in attendance for the call to order, except Jason Breckenridge who was absent.

  • Agenda:  An addendum with two items from the Clerk was added to the agenda for consideration, as the items were of a time sensitive nature.

  Gary Pipe- Director of Public Works A listing was presented at the meeting, as the tenders were due on March 4th, 2014

“That the gravel tender submitted by Joe Kerr Limited for the following, be accepted: 

1.  Supply, crush, load, haul and spread approximately  28,000 metric tonnes of Granular ‘M’ Gravel  for the  North  Half of the Morris Ward, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, at the price of $6.95 per metric tonne, $194,600.00 with HST; 

2.  Supply, crush, load, haul & spread approximately 20,000 metric tonnes of Granular ‘M’ Gravel for the South  Half of the Turnberry Ward, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, at the price of $6.95 per metric tonne, $139,000.00 with HST;

3.  Supply, crush, load &  haul  approximately  500 metric tonnes of Granular ‘M’ Gravel for stockpile at the Morris works garage , Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, at the price of $6.95 per metric tonne, $3,495.00 with HST;

4. Supply, crush, load &  haul approximately  5 00 metric tonnes of Granular ‘M’ Gravel for stockpile at the Turnberry works garage, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, at the price of   $6.95 per metric tonne, $3,495.00.

  9.2   Accessibility Training:Members of Council have reviewed their training package, which was  signed and handed in.

"That a By-law be prepared to establish plumbing fees, as part of the fee schedule for the Building Permits, with the fees as recommended by Steve Fortier, Chief Building Official.and that the meeting to give consideration to the By-law be held on April 1, 2014 with  the appropriate notice given.”      Disposition      Carried

8.2   Report on the Remediation of former UST area and Environmental Closure

  • Belgrave Water Annual Report

“That the Council of the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry receive the 2013 Belgrave Water Annual Report, which was submitted to the Municipality on February 19, 2014.”

John Graham from Veolia will be in attendance on April 1st, to present the 2 annual reports for the Water System.

He attended a Huron-Perth Land Owners Wind meeting, held by Cindy Moyer.

On February 19th he attended the MVCA Annual Meeting. He attended the ROMA/OGRA Conference.
